Summary

Directs the health program in the building or buildings to which they are assigned.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Attend to ill or injured children at ECC and Stowell Elementary.

2. Conduct screening activities and maintain health files on students.

3. Train staff in proper health procedures for students on medically alert list.

4. Maintain the efficient operation of the Nurse's office.

5. Participate in health care education for school personnel, parents, students, and community.

6. Issue medications to students.

7. Support health and safety instruction.

Minimum Requirements:

Education

-Registered Nurse duly registered with the State Board of Nurse Examiners of MO

-School-based nurse experience preferred

Knowledge

-Knowledge of professional nursing standards and the State Nurse Practice Act

-State statutes and board policies applicable to school nursing practice.

Skills

-Oral and written communication skills

-CPR certified and background in emergency and first aid care

-Screening experience in hearing, vision, and scoliosis

-MS Office Suite

-School Information System(SIS)

-Managing databases and sending out group e-mails

Physical Requirements

-Typing/word processing 

-Filing

-Light lifting
